As a PostDoc at the Shanghai Center for Plant Stress Biology (PSC), China, I deciphered the role of epigenetic components in abiotic stress responses in plants. In other projects, chemical-genetic and genome-editing approaches were utilized to impart stress tolerance in plants.
During my Ph.D. at UA, Belgium, I investigated the impact of climate change factors (high CO2, heat, and drought) on plants by using Arabidopsis thaliana as a model system. Also, different grassland species were subjected to future climate change conditions. As a holistic approach, plant stress responses were investigated at multiple organizational levels by profiling physiological, metabolic, genomic, and epigenomic changes.
